Couldn't fault it - perfect !

Arrived late afternoon, met by the owner, who was very pleasant and helpful and showed us all the facilities. Told us of best places to eat nearby. Room and bed very comfortable. We requested early breakfast for the Sunday, as we were going onto a local airshow. Breakfast all ready for us at 7.00 (very nice full english with home made bread).Due to the staff's dedication and hard work, we were able to get an early start, and got to our destination on time. A very enjoyable stay - will recommend

Great place to stay near Oxford

Stayed for three hights as a mini break to visit Oxford and surrounding area. Pleasant location in a village close to Oxford. Convenient for touring around without lots of town traffic.

Lovely Stay!

We spent a lovely weekend here. The lcation gives good access to the Cotswolds and Bampton is a typical quaint, quiet Cotswold town. The owner and staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the breakfasts were amongst the best we have had in a B&B. Highly recommended!!

A very convenient location for an overnight stay

A lovely quaint B&B with masses of retained features. A great location in the heart of Bampton. We treated ourselves to the full English breakfast which was fantastic.

Enjoyable Stay in Bampton

My friend and I stayed at Wheelgate House for one night. The house is beautiful and we were welcomed by Biz the owner, we had a brilliant breakfast and a whistle stop visit into Oxford. The room was clean and so was the bathroom.
Would recommend a stay to anyone.

An excellent bed and breakfast to stay at

We stayed for 2 nights but would have loved to stay more. A very homely feel to the house. excellent breakfast. excellent rooms. excellent beds. Need I say more? Please stay here if you are in the area much better than any hotel. A home from home with a very friendly and helpful host elizabeth. (Nothing a problem). Found it very relaxing to just look of the window across the village square and watch village life. Superb !!!

Home away from home

We first arrived at the Wheelgate House after a very stressful day. Immediately, we were made to feel at home by our welcoming and thoughtful host, Elizabeth. Basically, the Wheelhouse has everything you'd want from a B&B - delightfully relaxed yet stylish ambience, clean, well kept rooms, very comfy beds and clean, well-equipped bathrooms. But the really great thing about it is that it makes everything so easy, the soap's where you want it to be, there's water freshly placed in the room every day and there's even a torch cleverly put in each room in the unlikely event of a power cut. I'd thoroughly recommend it, whether you're looking to stay there on business or want to use it as a base to explore the Cotswold countryside.

Warm and excellent value

A very welcoming ,comfortable and clean guesthouse with everything you would need for an overnight stay. The breakfast was excellent and we were impressed with the freshly baked bread as well as the fact that it was obviously all good quality food which was being served. If we are ever travelling through that area again we would definitely try to book the wheelgate house.

The Wheelgate House is a little Cotswold jewel!

We stayed with the lovely Elizabeth at the Wheelgate House for an overnight after attending a wedding locally. She proved to be a vivacious, friendly lady who made us feel very welcome and very much at home in her lovely 200 year old stone buiding. So peaceful yet centrally located in this beautifully presented West Oxfordshire village with plentiful parking within easy reach. Our room was attractive with oak beams and a most comfortable double bed. Finally, breakfast was served around a large farmhouse style table in the breakfast room, and was superb with fresh fruit, freshly ground coffee and terrific eggs and bacon etc. We reckon this is a real find and a great alternative to more crowded places like Burford.

Lovely weekend get-away

I can thoroughly recommend the Wheelgate House B&B for a perfect weekend getaway in the country. The rooms are clean, spacious, with a homely feel (next to the usual complimentary tea and coffee we also had bottled water, herbal teas and a torch light for emergencies). I was really looking forward to a great home cooked breakfast and it was truly delicious: we even had home made bread! Bampton itself is a very quaint little town with a few pubs all walking distance, and many more great places within easy driving distance either to eat or go for walks.
